I'm trying to find out more about the ANNING family that owned Anning Bros. shipping company that, based in Cardiff, Wales in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The family were originally from Devon. In particular, I'm trying to find out which of the Anning brothers fathered Violet Eileen ANNING, born in Cardiff, Wales in 1899. I found her birth record in FreeBMD, but was unable to find her in the 1901 census of England and Wales. Violet came out to South Africa and had at least 4 husbands in succession, including James Charles POWELL (born 1892, India), William Fraser OTTO, Grey Hutton NORTON, and Thomas Justin HANDLEY. She died in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa in 1957.
