Today I received a copy of the burial certificate from the Minnesota State board of health to transport a corpse and a copy of the burial records from the East Montpelier Cemetery. It turns out he died in Harris, Itasca, Minnesota located just outside of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Cause of death: Shot. time of death: about 1:00 (does not say if it was A.M. or P.M.) Did he die in a hunting accident or a gun fight, as my grandfather always stated. Are there old newspapers for that area?
