Badger Y-DNA Project

I have started a Badger family Y-DNA project at Family Tree DNA to determine the origins of the various Badger family groups. Since surnames are passed down from father to son like the Y-chromosome, this test is for males only possessing the Badger surname. Females who would like to check their direct paternal line can have a male relative with this surname order a Y-DNA test. Currently FamilyTree is offering a reduction of their regular price until August 31 so if you have been thinking about doing this, now would be a good time. For more information see http://www.familytreedna.com/public/badger&fixed_columns=on. If you are interested in joining, I recommend the 37 marker test which is currently on special for $119.00 (It cost $221 formerly). Just click on the "Request to join this group" button on the upper left-hand side

The Y-DNA test only tests the DNA found on the Y-chromosome and not the other 22 autosomal chromosones, so this is not the type of tests used to determine likelihood of diseases or used by crime investigation, so there is no reason not to test.

Hope you will join us to learn more about our origins.
