Rosetta J. Berube-Xanthakis

SOMERSET – Rosetta J. (Bedard) Berube-Xanthakis, 97, of Somerset, died Friday, February 2, 2007, after a long illness in the Somerset Ridge Center. She was the wife of the late Santos Xanthakis and the late Armand Berube.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Jeremie Bedard and the late Melina (Bedard) Bedard, and her late step-mother and aunt who raised her, Blanche (Bedard) Bedard. She grew up in Fall River and later lived in New York, New Jersey and Warren, R.I., before settling in Somerset. She was a communicant of St. Louis de France Church in Swansea.
Mrs. Xanthakis and her husband were the owners of a small restaurant in New York City called the Fifth Avenue Nook. Prior to that she worked as a floor lady. She was a former member of the Almy Club and the Somerset Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Xanthakis is survived by a brother, Leonel W. “Leo” and his wife Delia of Somerset; two sisters, Gertrude Lawlor of Cranford, NJ, and Jacqueline Zanelli and her husband Charles of Kunkletown, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Normand, Emile and Roland Bedard, Maria Bradbant and Fleur Ange “Florence” Brault.
