You have really confused me, firstly my wife is the Gt Gt Granddaughter of Hugh and Anna Margretha Begg of Lanark, and this is what made me pay attention to your page.
Hugh Begg was the eldest son (b.1871) of William and Elizabeth Begg (married 1870), and as far as I was concerned he was the 4th son of 5, of William Begg (b1794) and Helen Craig (married Jan 3rd 1828), please confirm if any or all of this matches your data.
I thought my dates and names were accurate, but if not I'd be very gratefull for any help.
I know that William and Elizabeth are defiatly mine further back than that I am open for correction.
