Timothy--thanks for the info! My gggparents (Philip and Ann Maguire Beggans)were married in Newtonbutler and emigrated around 1862. I wonder if they traveled with any siblings? Do you know what the connection might be with Msgr. Beggans? My aunt seems to think that he and her grandmother, Catherine Beggans Cassidy, were first cousins, but the dates don't seem to match if I have the correct dates for Msgr. Beggans. Any further info appreciated. Thanks!
