Timothy--I actually have both spellings for Philip in my notes! The 1862 date that I have for Philip (or Phillip) and Ann was given to me by an aunt off the top of her head and I do not have it in writing. Perhaps these are the same Phillip and Ann! I am hoping they are the same! The census data I have for them from the 1880 census does list Phillip with 2 L's..... I could not locate them in the 1900 census which makes sense if they died before then. Their only son James died in 1893, so he was not listed in the 1900 census either. Do you have any further information on the Phillip Beggans and Ann Maguire that arrived here in 1863?
Also, who are Msgr. Beggans parents and grandparents? Perhaps we are connected that far back..... Thanks. Mary
