Hi Pat,

Would appreciate any thing you could provide. My brother started researching our family few years ago and he had it spelled Guion. He died in 1995 at the age of 42 with cancer so later on I started picking up his research trying to fill in the blanks. All I know for a fact is that my greatgrandmother Mary Louise Guion Smith born March 1885 had sisters Agnes born Oct 1882, Nellie born Nov. 1894 we knew nothing about her parents,or that she had 2 brothers she died in the 1950's I found them in the 1900 4 ward, Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY Census with her and her sisters showing parents Joseph Guion that is the way it was spelled on the census, age 39 born Canada wife not sure but looks like Doreatha age 38 born Canada shows they came in 1880 must be right for the story is Mary Louise Guion was born 1885 Cohoes, Albany,NY , shows Aggie which is Agnes born Oct 1881 NY, Mary born 1885, Edward 1887, Charles born 1889, Nellie born 1893. My greatgrandmother we were told was married in 1901 we don't have a month or day just 1901 they lived in Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY in all the census the 1910 we were told something happened to the parents but don't know what. The 2 sisters must have married right after that for the 1910 Census Amsterdam, Montgery, NY shows Agnes with her husband Frank Smith married 9 years her siter Nellie living with her it was spelled Guyone on that census. My greatgrandmother Mary was with her husband Joseph Smith but his last name was spelled Chmitt we were told the spelling was really Schmitt but was changed to Smith they were living in the Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY Census 1910 District 71, the 1920 Joseph, Mary Smith were in the 4 Ward Amsterdam,Montgomery,NY Census, the 1930 Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY, Fort Johnson Village, back to Agnes, Nellie. Nellie lived with her sister in the 1910, 1920 census spelling of her last name changed from the 1910 Guyone, to the 1920 Guyon. Agnes Guion married Frank Smith between 1900-1901, Mary Louise Guion married Joseph Smith(Schmitt, Chmitt) between 1900-1901, Nellie Guion married Henry Fahey between 1920-1923 first childe Arnold Fahey was born 1923 that is all I know on this family couldn't find her parents, brothers after 1900 there were other Guyan there which I believe is a connection but have no proof, so if ther is any thing you could help me with I would appreciate it. If you could find the marriage for my greatgrandparents Joseph N. Smith and Mary Louise Guion(Guyan, Guyon, Guyone) and get a copy I would gladly pay you for it. My email is kwdwilmoth@embarqmail.com Thanks so much for trying to help me it would be great if someone could help and fill in the blanks for us. Joseph Smith and Mary Guion's daughter Marion Catherine Amada Smith my grandmother born July 1906 married Earl Leroy Merritt Feb 18, 1928, Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY if you find that, I would love a copy of that as well and would pay for it. Thanks.
