Richard,

Your George Green Gaines strikes a cord.

The line of Daniel Gaines (1630-1684) md
Margaret Rowzee Bernard (1636-1690), children
Margaret, b 1666, Bernard (1668-1747) and
Mary, b 1670.

Bernard married Martha Taylor (1670-1726),
Their children George and Daniel (1690-1757),
Daniel married Elizabeth Jamieson and had
Bernard, George, William, Sarah, Eleanor and Judith.

George married Elizabeth Green and had
George Green Gaines and Henry. Henry died
in KY.

I dont have any data on where this George Green Gaines lived, but the indication is
his family moved to KY, and at least it shows
where the Green name came from. I have a copy
of the LP Gaines book and I'll look in it,
my sense is that it primarily shows the
descendants of Henry Gaines and Maria Stepp Woods, so if you are tied into that line
you can trace back to Thomas Games/Gaines
the Immigrant.

The other line above, thru Daniel and Margaret Rowzee Gaines has more of a proven
line back to Sir David Gam.

John
