Barring some non-paternal event that has forever been kept secret, my son is a direct descendant of Anthony Haden of King William/Goochland/Hanover Counties, VA. He has had his DNA tested and the results are posted here:

on the Hayden Family DNA Project which is apparently the only DNA project on Hayden/Haden of any spelling.
The results indicate that my son has nothing genetically in common with the Haydens found in New England - not a surprise.
Needed are more men who believe they are also direct descendants of Anthony Haden for comparison and are willing to be tested. Especially nice would be if someone who descends from Anthony's supposed son Benjamin for whom no records have ever been located because that might settle the question of his existence.
There is a link at the top of the page of the Hayden DNA Results to a "Contact Me" where you can contact the gentleman in charge of this project and find out how to be tested and have your results compared. The test is somewhat cheaper if you have it done as part of an ongoing project.
