I am trying to determine whether the Hadens/Haydens of Wayne County, KY are related to Captain Isaiah Haden of Hanover and Botetourt Cos, VA. The two primary Haydens in Wayne County were John and Bartholomew Haden, possibly brothers. I have heard that Isaiah Hadan had sons Bartholomew and John who were deputy sheriffs in Hanover and later Botetourt County, VA ca 1800. A John and Bartholomew Hayden showed up in Wayne Co, KY ca 1805 where John immediately became a deputy sheriff. I have now run across several Rev War claims that appear to support the notion that Bartholomew and/or John of Wayne County were sons of Isaiah: Journal of the House of Representatives of the United States, 1837-1838, MONDAY, June 18, 1838, Page 1119: "Mr. Williams, of [Wayne County] Kentucky, presented a petition of the heirs Of Isaiah Haden, deceased, of the State of Kentucky, praying for the seven years' half pay due to their ancestor, who was a CAPTAIN in the revolutionary war." Journal of the House of Representatives of the United States, 1844-1845 TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 1845, Page 208: "By Mr. Caldwell: The petition of the heirs of Isaiah Haden, of WAYNE county, in the State of Kentucky-heretofore presented June 18, 1838." Does anyone know how I could find the names of the claimants? Does anyone have additional information on Isaiah Haden? I assume that he is related to Anthony Haden of Hanover County VA, and is possibly the son of another Isaiah Haden. Thanks, Phil Notify Administrator about this message?
