No one has found proof of their births in England because they likely weren't born there. I believe this tradition arose perhaps because they were "English" as were most of the colonials. When Anthony first purchased land in Goochland in 1742, he was living in King William Co. That county and its parent county King & Queen have virtually no extant records - but there had been a John Haden and a William Douglas living in that area in 1704 and prior to that time - that would be the generation before Anthony & Margaret. Margaret undoubtedly died on the homeplace in Goochland early on - she appears with a dower release only on one deed in 1745. She isn't on any of the subsequent deeds as the law required. In that time frame she would most likely have been buried there on that tract. That property was later sold, 1774, by son Zachariah. Any gravesites lost many years ago. Anthony moved over to Hanover Co as shown by deeds recorded in Goochland - another county where most of the records have been lost. He likely married again to the widow Isabella Clements. Since he wasn't far away from Zachariah on the Goochland property, he could have been brought back and buried near Margaret or he could rest somewhere in Hanover Co. Most of the "tombs" of the colonials are only on property that remained in the family for generations - many of these markers have been placed many years after the fact and some are no doubt questionable at best.
