I think Samuel Dartridge Haden or a brother of his may have been the father. Samuel Jefferson Haden (b 1888), a son of Samuel Dartridge Haden (b 1834) according to the 1900 federal census, bought 40 acres of land only a few miles from where Mary Ida Haden lived, according to the USGS land patent records. Both Samuels lived in Beat 1, Jasper Co, MS, according to the censuses. I only have evidence that Samuel Dartridge Haden married a Nancy Elizabeth Newcomb (1900 census), but I know it was his 3rd marriage (1910 census) They married when Samuel was 49, so he certainly could've married Ginnie, had 4 kids, and divorced her by the time he was 49. Unfortunately, I can't find any record of him or Ginnie in the 1860 or 1870 or 1880 censuses. None of his other brothers fit as well. His father was William M. Haden (1793-1796 in VA - 1860 in MS) and his mother was Mary McGowan (1803 in GA -). John J. Haden died in 1849. Robert Haden (b 1828) is a possibility, he was living in Winston Co, MS in 1850. Charles Haden (b 1832) is unlikely, he married another woman at age 29 and had many kids by her, and there is no record of him in Jasper Co. Hamilton Haden (b 1838) is a possibility, he was living in Winston Co, MS in 1850. The only Hadens living in Beat 1, Jasper Co, MS are Samuel Dartridge and descendants. Anyone have information on the other marriages of Samuel Dartridge Haden? Where would I look for marriage and divorce records for Samuel? Thanks Notify Administrator about this message?
