Lena, my email to you was just returned. Here is part of it: I have more info on my Hafer line, especially collateral lines. Am delighted Jacob Hafer b 1825 was your great grandfather. His brother Harrison was my great grandfather. Let's exchange data...especially sources. For example, though I have no proof, I would guess Jacob Dayton Hafer was born at Lewisburg, PA since that is in Union county and all my line are there (I did not know the D stood for Dayton) Besides, I found him in the census: Census 1860 Kelly twp, Union co, PA 856/817 J. Hafer 30 Jane 28 MF 9 female JD 1 male. The farm next door were his parents Jacob Hafer and Rebecca (Gilbert) Hafer. Lewisburg, PA is right near Kelly twp. For what it is worth, my DAR ancestor, John Conrad Gilbert, is through Rebecca. I would like to know what happened to all these family members. You wrote Jacob Dayton died 1929 at Carson City. Is that in Michigan? I have a document of about a dozen pages, timeline format with notes, that I have been developing. I would be glad to send you a copy if you send me your address. I am anxious to learn what you know. Do you have any pictures of this generation? I have a newspaper clipping of obit of Daniel which includes his picture. He is buried in Lewisburg cemetery. Hope to hear from you, Estella ekjohnson@worldnet.att.net Notify Administrator about this message?
