I purchased a picture of an elderly lady wearing a high collar dress and wire rimmed glasses. On the back was a label which read: "Framed by A.H. Jacoby, Picture Framing Dept., 6th Floor, Gloyd-Halliburton, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma." Unable to identify the lady, I want to return the picture to the family of the framer. I have done some preliminary research on the internet and various census. In the 1930 Oklahoma census, I found a merchant named Samuel Gloyd, an art store owner named Albert Jacoby, and two individuals named Halliburton, a Tom Halliburton and a widow Mary E. Halliburton, each with sufficient funds to be a partner in a store. I believe I have the right individuals to match the information on the label. If you have a Jacoby ancestor who may have been a framer, particularly in this store in Oklahoma City between 1900-1930, the timeframe I believe for the picture, please contact me off-line. If we can determine the framer A.H. Jacoby is your ancestor, I will be happy to send you the picture for nothing more than the postage required to send it. My goal is to get the picture to someone who will take care of it. It was found in a Goodwill store in Austin, TX.
