Looking for parents of William John Labrie/Chapman, born about 1890 in New York (we believe).
The story is that a Miss Chapman married a Mr. Labrie and had at least one son, William John. Evidently Mr. Labrie was not a nice guy and deserted the family when William John was young. When William became of age, he legally took on his mother's maiden name of Chapman.
William John Chapman ended up in Hudson Co., New Jersey and by about 1923 began a family with Gertrude Catherine Collins, born in Pennsylvania.
