Hello, all. I am researching for a dear, lovely freind whose family hails from Maine. She believes her gggrandmother's surname may have been LaBree, but has been unable to prove that. Until I was able to get the 1850 census, she had no given name for her either. Does anyone recognize this family? 1850 Ripley, Somerset Co., Maine, page 246 lines 33-37, residence 317 family 340: Aaron Randall, 42, M, Farmer, Real Estate Value $500, born ME Lavisa (could be Lovisa), 41, F, ME Abigail, 8, F, ME Roxanna, 5, F, ME (my friend's ggrandmother) Clarinda, 3, F, ME In 1860 the family is still on the Ripley, Somerset census, but Lavisa is not on the census and there is another daughter named Fidelia who is 9 years of age in 1860, also born in ME. I cannot find Aaron after this census, but I did find a record on the LDS site for Roxanna marrying Daniel Osborn, who lived not too distant from them on 12 Nov 1866 at Cambridge, Somerset (on the transccription it has him as Asborn, but census shows Osborn). Ordinarily I would look a little harder at this source since some researchers are a bit light on the documentation, but the notes show it is transcibed from the actual documents from the County Clerk's office, so this one is pretty crediiible without too much additional work. Many thanks in advance!! Happy time travels! Susan. Notify Administrator about this message?
