Hi Carole,

Thank you for posting this interesting article on Joseph Labrie. Joseph was my grandmother's uncle.

For other researchers who are following that line, I should point out that the more usual spelling of his parents' names are Magloire (Migneault dit-) Labrie and Artémise Fraser.

Artémise was the great grand-daughter of a Scottish soldier who fought with the 78th Fraser Highlanders, with General Wolfe at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, in 1759. This is considered one of the turning points in Canadian history.

The Labries, on the other hand, were in Canada from the 1600s.
