Les Compagnies Franches de la Marine

I know that my maternal line started with Jean Baptise Migneault "dit' LaBrie and there's some writing that indicates he was a sergeant in the militia in Quebec. The Guerrete family reunion during the Acadian Festival piqued my interest in determining if Jean Baptiste Migneault or any of his children served in the French Marines in Quebec. It usually follows that Marines who settled in Quebec often continued service in the militia. Does anyone have any records of this?
Also, my great-great grandfather Pierre Migneault dit Labrie discontinued use of the Migneault name. There are marriage records in the Saint Basile New Brunswick church documents that can attest to this.
