Greetings! I am looking for some information on a Lacasse ancestor:
Going backward, I have an Ignatius "Enos" Smith, who was born on 4/2/1823 in the River Raisin (Monroe) are of Michigan. His parents are given as John Baptiste Smit or Smith, and his mother as Marie Lacasse. They married in River Raisin on 7/22/1822. Marie’s parents are given as John Baptiste (Jean-Baptiste?) and Marie Lacasse. Marie had a brother named John (Jean?).
I have no further information on these people. John and Marie Smith do not show up in the 1860 census, or at least I cannot find them.
If you have any information on this family, I would really like to hear from you.
