Your James MARDIS, may be my Margaret's brother.
My family history states:
About 1780, Jane (Mary?) FRANKLIN, niece of Benjamin Franklin, was married to James COYLE of Frederick, Maryland. To them were born: James, Joseph, William, Franklin, Sarah (sally), Margaret & Isabell.
After the death (no date)of James COYLE, Jane or Mary "re-married" James MARDIS and to them were born Susanne & Elizabeth (Betty).
I am seeking ancestor information on Both our Margaret COYLE born 16 June 1804 in Frederick County, Maryland. Married Robert DILWORTH 19 April 1827, b. 19 June 1803 died 1853.
My guess, James COYLE's sons may have taken the MARDIS name after his death.
