Ester, Martha Wright and William Estill (2nd husband of Martha) were my ggggGrandparents. Reuben Mardis was Martha's 3rd husband. Samuel Wright Mardis was my 1/2 gggUncle (1/2 brother of my gggGrandmother Jane Estill Tarrant) and was very active in my home county, Talladega Alabama. Mardisville was the original city and as the county seat was formed at Talladega several miles away Mardisville began to be abandoned. I have visited the Mardisville site several times and there are still several remains such as shrubbery, trees, etc. The family cemetery at Mardisville is overgrown but the grave markers and stones are still very visible. Many of my relatives are buried there. I have in my possession some Samuel Mardis documents such as original deeds from indians and countersigned by president Tyler. I have Hogan family letters from 1854 and 1873 that give detail information from Leonard Tarrant and Jane Estill Tarrant. I would really appreciate your help with any information about my relatives. I look forward to hearing from you! Ronnie Estill (Ron) Hogan 970-667-2635 rhogan@lpbroadband.net Notify Administrator about this message?
