Interesting stuff, really. The study of naming is of interest to me (i.e. metaphysically, do names reflect reality as with respect to causation from the teleological argument [destiny prevails], or from a forward-causational influence [somehow a name causes events to come into being])? Seeing the emphasis on the syllables "Dun" and "Ross", I found it somewhat eery that I have chosen to work for ten years at a company called "Wingate Dunross, Inc." Also, the prevalence of the name "Nicholas Meyler", in my family, is interesting. Why is this tradition in existence?? I doubt my parents were aware of the historical implications of their choice of names... Rose, thank you for your research.
