The O'Meara's in Kerry were stonemasons who built houses around Kerry and up as far as the lower end of Limerick County.

The girls who emigrated to the US included one called Abe.

Generaly the US Immigartion authorites would not allow single women travelling alone to enter the US unless they were met by someone who could vouch for them in the US, so it is reasonable to assume that another memeber of the family had already emigrated.

My Grandfather would have been oin his late twenties when he married in 1910, so I presume he was born in Kenmare around 1880. His father [John] was also a stonemason.
