I've noticed that no one has responded to your query. I, personally, don't have knowledge of an Oscar in my tree but can suggest something for you. Initially, I made huge progress by pulling death certs. If you know the county of his death, go visit the office and ask to see their death records. If you can't get to the office, phone them and ask whether they have a procedure for obtaining vital stats. There is typically a charge but I say it is well worth it. Death certs, in some cases, provide father & mother's names, their birthplaces, causes of death, birthdate, spouse name, occupation, where buried, and who reported the death. I've got a binder filled with death certs which have been invaluable. Try it.
