Linda, Thanks for the excellent information on Mary Frances Edwards Driskill Reeder. From this, I now know that my great grandmother Mary’s last husband was George L. Reeder (I never knew his first name) and also have a time line for my great grandfather Judd Driskill’s death - between their youngest son Elmer’s birthdate in 1889, and Mary and George Reeder’s marriage in 1891. This also provides her age which I didn’t have. The 1900 census you provide shows “Douglass Driskill, age 13” in the household. That is my grandfather (John Douglas Driskill) who was born 18 Oct 1887, and the two other Driskill boys (Charlie and Elmer) are his brothers, all sons of Judd. To further verify the census information, I have a hand-written letter from Mary Reeder to her son/my grandfather (John Douglas Driskill) dated Oct 27, 1926, in which she mentions several of the family members shown in the census: Elmer, U.S. (Ulysses S.) and Lena, Charlie, Whitelow, Frank, Vera. Her address at that time was c/o C. F. Stubblefield in Cisco, Texas, and she says in the letter she and Elmer are living about 5 miles southeast of Eastland. I assume that George Reeder had died by this time since she is living with son Elmer. I don’t have much further information on her. Know that she had a brother Clell Edwards (wife Josephine). I have a photo of Mary Reeder, John Driskill and Josephine Edwards together. I don’t know how your Reeder line ties in with Mary and George but I hope this helps some with your research and would be very pleased to hear from you if you find further information on Mary’s ancestry. If I can help you in any way by expanding on the bits and pieces of information I have I will be happy to. Barbara Notify Administrator about this message?
