I have been researching the Michael Cadet Young family in the Manuscripts Department, Library of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, SOUTHERN HISTORICAL COLLECTION #3242 MARY HUNTER KENNEDY PAPERS. In the collection, I found two letters that mention old "uncle and aunt" Sadler and "Featherston." Although uncle and aunt Sadler are not identified, a reasonable assumption is that they are Thomas Sadler and his wife Rebecca Featherstone. In both letters, Featherstone is reported to have some sort of growth on his nose. It must have been pretty impressive/disgusting to merit such mention. John Young My wife and children gives their Best love to you and all enquiring friends. Also give my complements to all your sons and daughters. Tell them if convenient I will come out next fall and swap a jock [joke?] with them. JY Janice McAlpine PS Michael Cadet Young did NOT marry Martha Sadler in 1723. That is junk genealogy. He actually married Temperance about 1730. She was his one and only wife, not a second wife. (I have records if anyone is interested.) Even though Michael Cadet Young didn't marry Martha Sadler, it is possible that Temperance was a Sadler and that Thomas was her brother. Notify Administrator about this message?
