We were told records are very hard to locate in Ireland (but we tried anyway with no luck!), so I'm hoping someone will know something about this family.
Anastasia's parents were Johne and Jane. According to FamilySearch.org, Johne was a teacher. Also, we found Anastasia, on the 1851 England census attending school at Casterton. Probably the servants school.
Anastasia's surname has also been spelled Sadler; however, we have a needlepoint she did and she spelled it Sadleir.
Anastasia was born 23 Sep 1837 and was baptized 10 Oct 1837 in Ahascragh, Galway, Ireland. She died 18 Jun 1891 probably in Ballygawley, Tyrone, Ireland.
Anastasia married Andrew McFarland around 1862. Andrew was born around 1829. He died 12 Jul 1893 probably in Ballygawley, Tyrone, Ireland.
They had nine children. All of them, except the two who died as children, immigrated to the U.S. All of those stayed in the U.S. with the exception of Charlotte, who returned to Ireland.
1. Andrew John was born 17 Aug 1863 and died 19 May 1864.
2. Matilda Jean was born 21 Oct 1864. She immigrated to the U.S. and married Thomas Farley (also from Ireland).
3. Charlotte was born 10 May 1867. She immigrated to the U.S. but returned to Ireland. She was married to Robert Graham but we're not sure if that was in Ireland or the U.S.
4. Caroline was born 28 Oct 1868 and died 1953 in Long Island, New York. She married John Reid in New York.
5. Andrew John was born 4 Dec 1869 and died 1 Apr 1875.
6. Frederick William was born 30 Mar 1872 and died 23 Mar 1918 in MT.
7. Julianne was born 28 Feb 1874 and died Nov 1956 in New Jersey. She married John Knowles (also from Ireland) in the U.S.
8. Thomas Alexander was born 24 Dec 1874 in Ballygawley, Tyrone, Ireland and died 23 Jun 1956 in Great Falls, Cascade, Montana. He married Sarah Frances Burdick in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
9. Robert James was born 24 Dec 1879. He immigrated to the U.S. but the family lost track of him.
