Hi Alicia: Yes it has been two years - since I started the search for my family roots - my father would speak of his family history often - and I did this for him in his memory and with the help of other various other relatives I have found on sites have have been able to do an extensive family history going back to 1700's. I am Johann's great-grand daugter Jacqueline, Stephens is his youngest brother. Generation 1 Johan Sedlar was born about 1767 in Rodine 7, Crnomelj Parish, Repulic of Slovenia. He married Margaretha Strucel in February 1786 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. She was the dauther of Andreas Strucel and was born about 1766. Children of Johan Sedlar and Margaretha Strucel are: i. Anna Sedlar, born about 1796 in Naklo 6, Crnomelj Parish, Repulic of Slovenia. She married Georg Russ on June 16, 1816 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. He was born about 1775 in Cudno Selo 5,Crnomelj Parish, Repulic of Slovenia. ii. Mathias Sedlar, born about 1804 in Naklo 6, Cromelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. Generation 2 Mathias Sedlar was born about 1804 in Naklo 6, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. He married Agnes Grill on February 25, 1827 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. She was the daughter of Georg Grill and Magdalena Rozic. She was born about 1810 in Crnomelj 128, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. Children of Mathias Sedlar and Agnes Grill are: i.Mathias Sedlar, born May 30, 1830 in Rodine 42, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia died before 1900 ii. Franc(Franz)Georg Sedlar, born about 1833 in Naklo 6, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. iii.Agnes Sedlar, born January 09, 1835 in Rodine 11, Crnomelj Parish, Slovenia iv. Ann Sedlar, born about 1844 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia and died about 1890 in Naklo 19, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. v. Josef Sedlar, born 1851 in Rodine 42, Cromejl Parish, Slovenia Generation 3 1.Mathias Sedlar was born May 15, 1830 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. He married Barbara Simonic on October 05, 1862 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. She is the daughter of Jakob Simonic and Margaretha Zunic. She was born on May 10, 1836 in Rodine 11, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. Marriage notes for Mathias Sedlar and Barbara Simonic: Mathias Sedlar was living at Naklo 10 at the time of their marriage and Barbara Simonic was living at Rodine 12. Children of Mathias Sedlar and Barbara Simonic are: i.Matt Seldar, born May 1866 in Rodine 12, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. He married Josephine Feitzel on December 14, 1888 in Calumet, Houghton, Michigan. She was born February , 1966 in Slovenia ii.Annie Sedlar, born 1879 in Slovenia. She married John Sustarich on November 07, 1877 in Calumet, Houghton, Michigan iii. Franc Sedlar, born February 03, 1872 in Crnomelj Parish, Slovenia. He died on April 27, 1878 in Naklo 6,Crnomelj, Slovienia 2. Franz (Franc) Sedlar married Maria (Marija) Agnic (Agnich) on February 15, 1858 in Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. She was born about 1837 in Taljci Vrh 6, Crnomelj Parish, Republic of Slovenia. Franz was buried on the 29th of April at the age of 45. His religion was stated Catholic. Stefan, was born 23 May 1878 (according to Stefan's B.C. death certificate), so that means Franz died less than a month before the baby was born. Poor Maria had 6 or more children and no husband. When Stefan was six Maria and the youngest children left Slovania and on May 31, 1884 Maria (wfe/mother), Maria , Mathew and Stephen arrived at New York Harbor on the Ship S/S Elbe. This ship left the port of Bremen, Germany and took approximately 9 days to reach the United States. At the time of travel Maria was 46 and listed as wife, Maria 16, Mathias 10 and Stephen 6 (microfilm series M237, Microfilm Roll 477 List # 650 (for M. Sedlar.). According to the ship manifest of the S/S Oder Johann and Josef travelled to New York on May 27, 1882. They were listed as laborers, 23 and 19 (their ages were switched) place of origin Austria. The other brother Frank (Fanz) arrived May 29, 1874 by himself at 15 years old. He travelled from Bremen, Germany on the S/S Main (Microfile Serial M237,Microfilm Roll 390, List 531). Maria was living with her daughter Maria Sedlar Stukel in 1900 and with her granddaughter Mary Sedlar Evertz in 1910. A death record from 1911appears to be a match in Calumet, Michigan Children of Franz Sedlar and Maria Agnitch are: i. Franc(Franz) Paul Sedlar, February 16, 1859 - October 12, 1931, born in Naklo 6 Crnomelj Parish, Slovenia. ii. Josef (Joseph) Sedlar, March 17, 1861 - September 17, 1927, born in Naklo 6 Crnomelj Parish, Slovenia. iii.
