There may well be a connection. I noticed that one of the pictures had Provence and Marseilles. The name on it was Jaques Segond. My Segond family was from Provence, Marseilles, France. The brother of my ancestor was Joseph Segond. born about 1749 in Provence-Alpes-Côte D'Azur, Département Bouches-Du-Rhône, Aix-En-Provence, Provence, Marseilles, France. Would it be possible for you to translate that picture for me? I think that Joseph and Jaques are the same, but I may be mistaken.
