Robert
In reference to your Royal Taft. From what I find he was of the Taft Family of Mendon, Ma. His father was Robert and mother Rhoda Plimpton. His grandfather also Robert. I don't have birth dates of the 2 Roberts. I would have to dig a little further but they were probably born in Mendon, Ma. or Uxbridge, Ma. The grandfather Robert's father was John born 12/18/1710 in Mendon. John's father was Robert born 1674 in Braintree, Ma and died in Uxbridge, Ma. in 1748, His father was also Robert born abt. 1640 in England and he is the first Taft noted in America. He bought land in Braintree then sold it and bought a large tract of land in Mendon, Ma.
