Dear Neil,
I'm not sure what other info I am looking for right
now.I have found quite a bit so far and at this point
I guess I'm starting to look for a living relative
which I am sure will be harder.
I recently found out that Newell Jennison is my
Grandfather.Newell's' mother was Azarn Taft.In
Newell's death certificate it stated that his mother
was born in Vermont....another reason I had trouble
looking for her.I had been told that the census
records contained many errors but I guess the death
records are only as accurate as the person giving the
information,in this case I was told it was Newell's'
Aunt Anna Jennison. I'm not sure how she is his Aunt
yet because I can't find who she married to become a
Jennison or how the tie is there. My mother told me he
had two Aunts in Rhode Island who he lived with at
times. My Mom is 86 years old and only told me very
recently that Newell Jennison was her father. The story
she told for years was that her mother married a man
named Albert Hiles and had a son named Leonard and
then she was born a few years later. Then when she was
about three years old she said Albert walked out on
his family and was never heard from again. That whole
story is true except for the fact that Albert walked
out on his wife and son and she was not a Hiles. Her
mother never talked much of any of this to her.Newell
came to see her a couple of times after her mother
remarried again and she has a very old faded picture
of him at a house in Rhode Island and some postcards
dated in 1930 and 1931. I found out that he died in
1934.I am looking now to try to find someone that knew
the family and might be able to tell me where the
picture was taken, what kind of man Newell was,if
Horace was his twin brother ,why Azarn died so young
and more family members that are not listed in any
census yet.I am also wondering what kind of reaction
there would be to the situation.I found a really good
family history on the LDS site. Some people have put
lots of work into researching that family way back to
the 1600s in England. As you can see I really don't
know what my next step should be.There is a Howard
Jennison listed as a submitter to the LDS site that I
guess I should contact next and all I have is an
address and I have hesitated to write.Mostly because
of the situation, but regardless of that---he is my
grandfather and I would like to know more about
him.Thanks for listening. Sincerely,Yvonne Joslin
