Hello, I am new to the forum (and to genealogy). I am picking up where an older relative has left off her search at a brick wall - great place to start, haha! Here is the info I have:
James Tait b. 1805 Jedburgh, Roxurgshire, Scotland
1816 Sailed to America with an "Uncle" Rob Henderson, also born in Jedburgh - not sure if he was really an uncle or if that was just a nickname because I believe they were similar in age.
d. 1886 in New York State
I have the complete line for James Tait from then on, he married Katherine S. Yaple and had children in upstate NY. I am trying to find James's parents. If Rob Henderson is really his uncle, then I know his mother because Rob only had one sister, "Peggy." Robert and Peggy (and their brothers James, b.1806, John, and Daniel) were the children of Adam Henderson and Margaret Cowan
