I have just started working on my Tait family from Scotland, in particular Kirkcudbrightshire, Dumfries & Galloway.
I am interested in the family of Joseph Tait born circa 1822 who married Mary Craik, and had 12 children, John 1849, Mary 1851, Agness 1852, Jane 1854, Isabella and Janet (twins) 1856, William 1858, Eliza 1861, Robert 1863, Joan 1865, Margaret 1867 and James 1870.
Other surnames that these children married into are:
Carson x 2, Lorimer x 3, Black, Shaw, McAdam.
I have just downloaded Joseph (born circa 1822) death certifcate, his parents are listed as William Tait and Mary McVitae.
Any one else have these names?
I am a descendant of Isabella Tait who married Robert Carson.
