Robert Tait b. 1790 married Jane Sorley Prestonpans 1814.
They had the following children:
Janet b. 1817 Prestonpans(died infant)- William b1819 prestonpans m Janet(Jessie)Grant d.Edinburh - George b.c.1822 Prestonpans m.1842 Grace Stevenson. They migrated to Sydney Australia 1849(with 6 subsequent generations in Australia)
The following next 5 children born to Robert and Jane Tait
have so far not been traced.
Isabella Tait b.1825 Dunfermline. - James Tait b.c.1828 Dunfermline. - John Tait b.1831 Dunfermline. - Peter Tait b.c.1835 Dunfermline. - Janet Tait b.c.1839 Dunfermline.
It is possible that one or more of the sons may also have emmigrated. Seeking any known info re the last mentioned children......George Tait
