Looking for anyone with information about Tait family living in Hamilton around 1850 (before and after). 1851 Census for Halton county, Nelson Twp., Ontario lists John Smith, his wife Sarah Ann Tait born 1827 Ireland, their first children and Catherine Tait, age 63, which would make her date of birth 1788 (Ireland) I am assuming she is the mother of Sarah Ann. I can find no other record of Catherine. John and Sarah moved across Ontario and settle in Moore, Lambton County about 1855 but Catherine is not listed again. Any information on Tait families living in the area at the time would be appreciated.
