If you can get to the Contra Costa, San Jose or San Francisco libraries, or for that matter any library in California look up the history of Padre Sierra & Anza coming to settle San Franciso, Publeo San Jose, & Contra Costa County our family is part of California history and check the library's genealogy section.
Candelario once owned Rancho Acalanes where Acalanes High School in Lafayette is now. He lost the property when he signed the deed over before receiving all his money.He is also the Valencia that a San Francisco street was named after.
Candelario was the son of Jose Francisco Maria Valencia y Munos from Bayoreta, Sonora, New Spain who married 23 Jan 1790 Maria Veronica Victoria Leandra Higera y Redondo.
