Good morning Dick, Thanks for looking. It is a puzzle. Reason being, my great grandfather Walter Skrainski (located on line 89) served in the Russian Japanese war and his column is blank. Perhaps it is blank because it was a foreign war? Line 87 is my grandfather's second wife and line 88 (Chester) is his son from his first marriage. He was married in Russia(Poland)and his first wife passed away.(Somewhere between 1920 and 1923).
He did not remarry until 1924. Also, I found records of Joseph coming over to the US prior to 1914 in contrast to line 22. Maybe he wanted to keep his past seperate from his second wife. I don't know but there is still the question of the photograph of him in uniform.
Thanks for listening.
Cathy
