I have seen casualty lists for my stat, Ohiote. What they showed were name, rank, home town and disposition (killed in action, died of accident, died of wounds, died of sickness, wounded, etc.) No mention was made of where it all happened.
Since most big actions involved numerous divisions (each US division was about 20,000 men) I doubt there was an overall casualty list. The disposition of a trooper would show up in his personall file and in the company and regimental reports but above that level they are mostly interested in the numbers of men who were lost.
If you want to track an individual you have to know the unit, regiment and lower, he was in.
