Greetings, Robin !

The 191st Tank Battalion was organized at
Fort Meade, MD, 20 Feb 41 from national guard units from NY, MASS, VA and CONN;
following training, departed NY P/E, 28 Feb 43;
arrived North Africa, 9 Mar 43;
arrived Italy, 9 Sep 43;
arrived France-ETO, 15 Aug 44;
arrived Hampton Roads, VA, P/E, 6 Dec 45;
inactivated at Camp Patrick Henry, VA, 7 Dec 45.

Campaigns:

24 Anzio
25 Ardennes-Alsace
26 Central Europe
29 Naples-Foggia
34 Rhineland
35 Rome-Arno
37 Southern France

I don't find a combat history for the unit while in Africa.
Perhaps it was there for training, then on to Italy.

Location at War's end, 15 Aug 45:
Hohenkamer, Germany.

Let me know if this fits the profile you have developed.OK ?

Louie F. Turner.
