My wife, Arleen, just found out two years ago that her stepfather, Jack Warn, was a member of the 508th. The news came with photos of Jack carrying a 12 year old French boy named Louis Jean who had been wounded during the days immediately following the invasion, and of a stone wall in Picauville showing Jack's name and those of his fellow 508th buddies etched into it by local citizens. The former photo appeared in the July 10, 1944 issue of Newsweek. Jack always remained silent about the war and his part in it, so we've little else to go on in reconstructing his experiences. If anyone remembers Jack and can supply any information or anecdotes at all, including what company he was in, please contact me at: defishel@hotmail.com. Thank you.
