I know it's been a while, but you mentioned the Genealogy of Zapata that was published by Jose F. de la Pena. I have that book and it is a very thin book of lists. It shows the lineage of Zapata and mentions baptismal and marriage records. It doesn't mention the information I was looking for, but it did prove some information for me. I paid $20 for the book in Zapata County.
