Hello Alma. My name is Irma Villarreal Whitman and I have recently started my family genealogy. My grandmother on my father's side was named Maria Refugia Zapata Villarreal (maiden name Zapata). I remember that she always claimed to be related to Emiliano Zapata which I thought might be true but had no way of proving it. Her father's name was Francisco and her mother's name was Guadalupe. I noticed on your posting the name of Guadalupe Zapata, but that was her maiden name. Unfortunately I do not have my great-grandmother's maiden name at this time. I know that back then there were a lot of cousin marriages and do not know if maybe Zapata was also her maiden name. I was just wondering if in your research you have found the name of Francisco. Would like to hear back from you. Thanks.
